Son of SALE! SALE! SALE!

Friday, April 25th, 2014

It’s been a few years since we had a SALE, so I thought we’d make some AdSelections available again.

SALE

Also, we have a fair amount of inventory coming to the warehouse this season, so we need to make room. Any order of $40 or more will get free shipping via a paypal refund. Just remind me when you place your order. (Also, feel free to add any non-sale items from our regular catalog to your order. We’d love to put them on sale, too, but we don’t have the inventory to do so.)

Click here to be taken to the sale items.

The sale runs from 04/25/14 to 05/25/14, or while supplies last.

Update: Per the above “while supplies last”… the sale quantities of the following have sold out:
• Duncan the Wonderdog
• Noirness
Thanks for the patronage!

AdDistro … Final Countdown!

Monday, October 14th, 2013

Hard to believe it’s been over a year since I closed up the AdDistro new product acquisitions.

Well, inventory was such that I thought I’d try blowing out whatever I had left over as well as offer up some rare OOP items associated with AdDistro and AdHouse.

So, point your browsers here to take a look at what we have leftover. I’m only going to run these deals for a week, figuring I can still take a few to shows and what not in the future if they don’t sell. Or trade them to some local dealers who might be interested.

I figure ebay would get all up in arms if I made any extra deals through their portal. (Free shipping, or Free stuff.) So, I’ll say it here… spend some money (over $20 in product) and I’ll start throwing in some free AdHouse goodies.

Also, I DO combine shipping. Sorry if the system in place doesn’t show that. So, refunds will be sent once packages have been packed, weighed, etc.

I guess that’s it. So, long and thanks for the fish!

USPS Shipping Rates

Monday, February 11th, 2013

Good ol’ Tom Spurgeon’s Comics Reporter reminded me that I should address the increase in USPS international shipping rates…

First off, we’re not the most advance of website developers over here. I basically try and “ballpark” the cost of shipping within the US (and other countries) and then add that cost to the Paypal shopping cart. 90% of the time it works. The other 10% of the time I will refund the purchaser or I lose money.

I’ve seen questions and comments on Twitter about what we would charge to ship to other countries. It’s not like we’re trying to rip you off. That’s pretty much what the USPS charges. We can really only send things via Priority Mail. So, that one comic really does cost us from $14-$20 to ship to your country.

We received an order lately for one comic to Canada. Because of the rise in international shipping costs, that one comic was given away.

So, I doubt things are going to get cheaper. I guess “digital” is looking better and better all the time…

Centifolia Purchasolia

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

For those who are interested, and may not have heard yet, Stuart Immonen’s Centifolias (V1 & V2) are available for purchase now.

As I probably could have guessed, the slipcase sold out within a day.

And if THAT doesn’t fill your AdVoid, Even the Giants by Jesse Jacobs will be in your better comic shops this Wednesday 5/25/11. Make it so.

ANCIENT SS & REMAKE in stores 6/24!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

All –

Just saw that both ANCIENT BOOK OF SEX & SCIENCE and REMAKE will be in your finer comic establishments this Wednesday, June 24th, 2009.

So, go forth and purchase!

If you don’t have a finer comic establishment, we’ll make those available to purchase direct from us as well on Wednesday. I only mention that since the first five REMAKE orders will get a swell sketched & autographed copy.

And speaking of the books, check out these swell links on the books:

boingboing: “Scott Morse sent me a copy THE ANCIENT BOOK OF SEX AND SCIENCE, but I’ve been too busy scooping my brain off the floor for the last 45 minutes to write about it.”

Blog@Newsarama: “it’s like Jeffrey Brown inking Brian Ralph drawing Astro Boy with Watchmen lay-outs, only not really like that at all.”

(And while there, read about the JOHNNY HIRO love as well!)

A Tiger in Every Tank

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Or on every shelf.

I “think” TIGER!TIGER!TIGER! hits your LCS today. At least I saw one post that said it should be out there. If not, we have placed both it and NOTES OVER YONDER in the AdShop. And as always, you could bug Mr. Morse about getting a copy too.

Speaking of NOTES, our comical reporter Spurg gave it a review last night: “This is my favorite of the Scott Morse books to date…”

Haven’t really heard how the Mesmo party went, but it looks packed! Remember that Desert Island does those cool prints, and that they have one by Rafael, if you are so inclined. Oh.. and having been nudged by Chuck Moore over at Comic Related, I looked into when Diamond got their copies of Mesmo. Based on that info, I’m guessing your LCS should have copies today or next Wednesday. If you have an LCS that wouldn’t order such a book, you can always order from us, or heck, we even saw InStockTrades was selling them on ebay.

In other news.. can you believe I still have books from HeroesCon that I haven’t read? Tis’ true. I’ll get to them eventually. That said, I did read some of my MagComics over the last few days. MagComics are those magazine sized comics. An oddity, but much loved none the less. The two I read were PUG DAVIS and SWORD.

PUG is one of those great discoveries that is right out of left field. And by that, I mean it comes along fully formed and makes you wonder “Where the heck did THIS come from?”. There’s only been a few comics that have ever done that to me, and THB was one of them. So, just to say that PUG is goooooood. While not “perfect” as my first exposure to Sugar’s work, I’m still quite impressed. Heck, you can even ready the whole thing at the link above, if you want. Art for the masses!!!

SWORD gets a mention because we love the One Percenters. Heck, I feel  like they’ve been around as long as we have, and they have to be half my age. Sword is their first anthology (what took you so long!) and it’s a very nice mix of talented peoples. I don’t know why, but I feel they’re all drinking from the same well. Maybe that’s a good editor, or maybe they’re all going to CCS. I don’t know. Anyway, they make great comics, and you should check this one out if/when you can.

What else?

This weekend is the big RichCon. They say it’s the largest show in Virginia. And I believe them… (for now.) Heh. Is that a bit of foreshadowing there? Could be. But anyway, I won’t be exhibiting this time out, but I do plan to stop by and say some “Hi”s and see if anyone is interested in some books. If you’re in the area, you should, too.

And how come I always remember stuff to post about after I post? Must be a Murphy’s Blog Law or something. Anyway, if you haven’t checked Alan’s War yet, you should enter the contest to win it.  When I get around to doing my best of 2008 write up, it will be on there. And I won’t have that many best uvs, so that should be saying SOMETHING! heh. I’m just too funny sometimes.

The Truth is on Ebay.

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Had some time last weekend, so I decided to edit two of my many, many shelves.

Because of said time, I thought I’d even go as far to ebay what I was ready to get rid of. One of said items is the above X-Files Fan Club Kit. Why I thought I’d talk about it here is that it’s just one of those weird moments I went through in my fanboy life. You see, I didn’t subscribe to the fan club, I won this on a radio competition. It must have been the second or third season of the series, and I was deep into the show. Heck, any show that has episodes that take place in my current and home town with monsters and aliens has to be good… right? Anyways, one of the local radio stations that have since come and gone were having a phone contest. You probably had to hear the theme music and call in. Well, I was just getting out of the shower and I heard the music. So, dripping wet, I ran to the phone, called it in, and won.

I think that might have been the first time I won something over the phone.

Anyway, kept the kit on the shelf for years. And now decided it was time to let it go. I’m also letting go a fair amount of other things from the shelf. Lots of indy/alternative trade paperbacks aka books. Go see if there’s something you might like. Also, those auctions started really low.

On the other side of the coin, if you’ve been looking for a first edition James Jean PROCESS RECESS, I decided to part with one of those too.

That’s all for now. More to come soonish.

Happy Hiro Ending

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

First off, I’ll lead with my playing around with the new catalog earlier this week…

I don’t know if we REALLY need a catalog for our product. I might get asked for one around 5 times during the year? But I felt like I wanted to put a new one together given the amount of new projects we’ve been inking for 09 recently. So, I’ve reformatted it, and have started to print a few out to put in with our mail orders that we receive. If you want to download it, by golly, you can do so. (Also, thanks to JCC for the one typo of which he made me aware.)

Speaking of mail orders… I received an email today from Scott Davis who sent along his twitter feed in regards to his love of Johnny Hiro. The part I like the best:

“Finally, I visited Floating World Comics in Portland (which has late hours that conflicted with all previous attempts to shop there). As an afterthought, I inquired about Johnny Hiro, clarifying the spelling of H-I-R-O to make sure they would at least search by the right title…and they had all three issues!”

You see… he had been looking for JH all over the place, and no one seemed to have it. In PORTLAND of all places… (which I consider one of the TRUE comic cities.) So, same old story, but with a happy ending. Thanks Floating World… YOU ROCK!

And speaking of Floating, if you live near their store, be sure to swing by Nov. 6th for a special art show they have planned. I don’t know the full details, but I think it has something to do with the 5 group.

Oh.. and speaking of stores.. we NOW have Venice Chronicles in stock. If your local store doesn’t carry it, and you’d rather support us direct instead of through Amazon, by golly, feel free to purchase from us.

Double Oh.. Notes Over Yonder should be showing up at your LCS very soon.. if not already. Keep your eyes peeled!

That is.. if you have any $ left over after purchasing that swell tiger! Grrrr!

In Stock Trades

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Back when we took that trip to Reading, PA to visit the CGS Super Show, we were lucky enough to meet up with In Stock Trades.

(In Stock can be seen way in the back left. I took a photo of this guy (Chad) because I thought he looked like my brother, especially with the WVU shirt!)

We actually had been working with their sister company DCBS previously, to try and get the word out about our product. It’s actually a pretty cool idea on their part. Creating a site that educates about the little known comics and books that are out there. It’s called First Light. Go check out the platform if you’re intersted.

So, anyway, I just wanted to make people aware of it. I appreciate it when a distributor or store gets behind what we’re doing, and it would be great if people support them, while supporting us. So, if you’re interested in MESMO DELIVERY, PULPHOPE, PULPATOON PILGRIMAGE, THE AVIARY, THE RIDE HOME, at a pretty good savings, go check them out.

I know DCBS sponsors the ISR boyos, so there’s also that. Cheers!

Did I miss the memo?

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

I noticed a lot of publishers having sales this week.

Last week McSweeneys ran a pretty nice sale. But since I have around 5 of their concerns that I haven’t even cracked, I didn’t pick anything up.

Now I hear PictureBox is having one.

And Top Shelf.

Oh well… If you subscribe to the AdLetter (via electronic means!) you’ll already be in the know to the SUPERSECRET sales we might have now and again.

And if you’re in the PArea, maybe you should swing by the Comic Geek Speak Show, as I plan to have around 4-5 titles reduced to tempt the uninitiated!

And in other news…

Here’s another Mesmo review. And if peeps might be scratching their heads… The book is solicited in the current Previews to be shipping in November. But yeah, we have a few copies now, because Rafael preprinted, and had a shipping accident.

Josh Cotter does the speaking thing with hatchers.

And that’s all I gots right now.
