Paul Pope Diesel Prints / Serigraphs for Sale

Friday, February 28th, 2014

Update: These have sold. Thanks for all the interest and help in spreading the word.

Given the amount of projects we have planned this year, and our hesitation to dip our toes into crowd-sourced funding, I find myself at a point where I’m ready to part with some of the collection.

We are selling two limited, beautiful, Paul Pope serigraphs that were created by Axelle Editions during his work with Diesel.

Both have been stored in their original shipping tubes since they were received. I recently opened both to inspect and photograph. I will go into further detail of each below. I am also using some information about each print from illustrator/designer/collector Jakob Westman. Jakob is a great resource and is allowing me to use the information, for which we thank him.

I thought I’d first offer these here before trying ebay.

Paul Pope Diesel Light Trailer Print / Serigraph

I agree with Jakob (see below) that this print is even greater than expected. The inks are LUSCIOUS and ooze Pope. Due to the size of the print, I did not unroll it fully. The print comes wrapped around a tube, within the shipping tube, and used bubble wrap to center, so it was very protected. (Since I didn’t unwrap this print fully, if a defect is found on the upper portion of the print, I will adjust/refund accordingly.)

From Jakob Westman:
Light Trailer by Paul Pope.
Paul Pope did a special museum quality 12 color silkscreen print called Light Trailer with Axelle Arts in 2006. The print was nominally commissioned as a birthday gift for Diesel owner Renzo Rosso, but there was also a retail edition available online and at NYC area Diesel stores.
This is the Holy Grail of my print collection. I was looking for it for a long, long time, and when I finally got my hands on it I was overwhelmed. It was even greater than I had hoped.

Paul Pope Diesel Rose Print / Serigraph

While this is a nice print, my opinion is that is pales a bit when compared with Light Trailer. First, it’s smaller (which actually might be a good thing.) Second, it’s more of an “uncoated” print as opposed to the “coated-ness” of Light Trailer. Also, I noticed a vey slight ding to the upper left corner, so I am discounting accordingly.

From Jakob Westman:
Rose by Paul Pope
A 12-color screenprint which I *think* was done as a 51st birthday present to Diesel Industries’ founder, Renzo Rosso in 2006. Not 100 % sure though. The screenprint has a nice and weird glow-in-the-dark print to the right of Rose’s elbow.
